Family, friends and football aside, would have to be food and weather.

Food - It's nice to go on holiday and sample local cuisine, but wouldn't fancy it all year round.

Weather - At least we actually have weather. Could never reside in a country where it's hot and sunny all year round.

Arizona could be a good start. Go and hang out with Doug Stanhope in Bizbee, while you learn Spanish, then it’s a short drive to Mexico. I feel you could be happy there.

What a load of bollocks. Most of those areas used to be great but are now dull hipster places frequented by people with too much money who aren’t from London. Sums London up these days, such a shame

Mashed in Maryland, the way you're describing your returning experience is as a visitor, this isn't really addressing Leonard's fear of emigrating is it.
I'd miss my gentrified part of town and it's utility
Going West Ham, home and away, including the new stadium
Four seasons
A beautiful and easily accessible country, I mean Stoke away via the Peak District for the weekend
Fambly
Golf this morning when the sun melts the frost

I always preferred the sound and vision pub to the intrepid Fox.

I moved to NZ 5 years ago.

I can tell you now, I miss going to West Ham big time. The reason is not just football. Having a ST was an excuse for friends and family to get together on a regular basis. Have a drink, take the piss out of each other and generally have a blow out. It was almost therapy also!

Just watching football at a normal time of day is a miss also!

As others have said, work-life balance is a lot better though!

Latest offence, depicting male or female stereotypes in adverts is banned from next year due to causing 'serious offence.'

Where's best to become an illegal as a Brit?

Already emigrated.

Main things I miss are Match of The Day, the fact you can buy anything at anytime, my mates, and going to Upton Park.

Saying that. Life feels better now. Work/life balance is healthier and I can now afford to buy a house. I just feel like England has lost its identity (a true sense of fair play) that made it so great. We're turning into the Yanks.

The kind of areas that were a bit dodgy not so long ago like Shoreditch, Brixton, South Bank and Southwark, Hackney, Peckham, Kings Cross etc are now fucking great. Soho is still fun. Fitzrovia and other central areas that were dead arenow happening. All the art, theatre, music, cinema, sport, nightlife is fucking great. Everything about it is great apart from having cheaper nightlife areas.

Re: What would you miss about this country if you emigrated?
If central London had done more to retain its "character" it'd be a much better place. Just all glass buildings and chains. Countless pubs shut down, hardly any little independent businesses, nightlife decimated. Its like its been intentionally made generic. Difference is noticeable even compared to 10 years ago.

100% agree. Worked in it for 20 years, It started as a toilet then when careering downhill from thereon-in.

Take off the British Empire tinted glasses and have a proper fucking look. To say it's let itself go would be the mother of all understatements.

Drunk in the Intrepid Fox several times, but the last time was sour. We'd just lost to Chelsea and one of their was in there giving me grief, I had the hump and a cocktail of crap lager, Charlie and an urge to kill. I tried to glass Chelsea cunt but was stopped by mates and admittedly not my finest hour.

Iconic grand old boozer now occupied by a generic burger chain.

Sums much of London in 2018 up.
